Size guide: how to measure and choose your football shirt

Maillot Cruz Azul Extérieur 2026/27 - vue 1

A shirt size cannot be guessed from weight alone. The method: measure a garment that fits you well, compare it with the chart, then decide. One fit, one size chart.

Measure the chest

Take a shirt or T-shirt that fits you well, lay it flat and measure from one underarm seam to the other. Double the result to get the chest circumference. This is the measurement that matters, not your usual waist size.

The size chart

Possible tolerance: ±2 to 4 cm.

Between two sizes, which one?

For a loose fit, take the larger size. For a snug fit, the smaller one. If you are unsure, one size of margin is more comfortable.

Retro shirts

Retro shirts use period sizing and are more fitted. Take one size above your usual size. The size guide calculator adds it automatically when the product is a retro shirt.

The two most common mistakes

  1. Relying only on weight: two people of the same weight do not have the same build.
  2. Forgetting manufacturing tolerance: one size of margin is more comfortable than a size that is too tight.

Use the calculator

On each product page, the “Help me choose my size” button opens a calculator: enter your height and weight, and it gives you the size to take. The full guide contains the chart and the measuring method.
